Many shows, interviews and in-studio performances are available to stream from the home screen of the app. Tap the “Home” icon at the bottom of the app screen.

Can I listen in the car?
Yes, the app supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Can I listen on a Bluetooth or smart speaker?

Yes, the app supports Bluetooth streaming.

How do I find the song I just heard on-air?
The app shows recently played songs so you can easily find and save the music you heard. Click the “Live” button at the bottom of the screen to find the recently played playlist.

How do I close the audio player?

Swipe the player left or right to dismiss it.

The Current’s hosts and music team curate playlists, spotlight emerging artists and feature local bands alongside national and global acts.

Yes. You can favorite songs using the rock hand/save icon while you are logged in.

Where can I find local concerts in the app?
Tap the “Gig List” icon at the bottom of the app screen to view The Current’s Gig List - a curated list of upcoming shows in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.

Do I need an account to use the app?

No. You can read and listen without signing in. A free account lets you save stories and sync your content across devices.

What do I get with a free account?

Save favorite programs, episodes, stories and videos. Your saved content syncs automatically between the app and the website when you're logged in.

How do I create a user login?

When you open the app, click on “Sign up for free” and follow the instructions.

Can I use my existing MPR login?

Yes. One account works across MPR News, The Current and YourClassical — on apps and websites.

How do I sign in to my user account?

When you open the app, click on “Sign in” and follow the instructions.

Can I save articles to read later?
Yes, if you are logged in. Tap the rock hand/save icon to bookmark stories and access them anytime.

How do I support The Current?
You can become a member of Minnesota Public Radio directly through the app by tapping the Donate icon at the bottom of the app screen. Member support helps fund independent journalism and programming across Minnesota.

Technical Support

Where can I find accessibility settings within the app?
Go to Settings → App Settings to switch between light and dark mode. To adjust font size, use your device's accessibility settings (these are controlled at the operating system level).

Does the app offer offline listening?
Live radio requires an internet connection. Select on-demand content may be available for offline listening.

Why is the live stream buffering?
Buffering is usually caused by a slow or unstable internet connection. Try switching to Wi-Fi or moving to an area with a stronger signal.

Go to Settings → Feedback in the app to report technical issues or contact us.
