A new bronze statue honoring the late Glenn Frey has been installed — where else? — standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona. It joins a similar statue resembling "Take It Easy" co-writer Jackson Browne in the Standin' on the Corner Park. (Billboard)
Massive Dylan live set planned
23 shows played by Bob Dylan in 1966 form the basis of a new 36-disc box set of live recordings by the music legend. The 1966 Live Recordings follows the release of last year's even larger release The Cutting Edge 1965-1966: The Bootleg Series Vol. 12; the president of Legacy Recordings says that the label was "struck by" the quality of the live recordings they found while assembling that collection. Paisley Park memorials come down
Memorial items left by Prince fans at Paisley Park have been removed as the venue prepares for its public opening next week. "The city and the singer's estate said the artwork and flowers were creating more traffic and risk to pedestrians," reports the Associated Press. "They're asking that visitors not place any new items near the fence."
Amoeba Music adds weed to inventory
The Berkeley, Calif. location of iconic chain Amoeba Records has been granted a marijuana dispensary license. "Weed can help save music," says the store's co-owner Dave Prinz, citing the need to compensate for sagging sales of the store's flagship product. (Pitchfork)
