"We really wanted the second [album] to be good, so we just took our time," explains frontman John Pelant. It's been nearly four years since Colored Emotions, Night Moves' debut on Domino Records, gained national attention.
On the day of Pennied Days' release, the Minneapolis band's sophomore album, Night moves stopped by The Current to chat with host Jade and to perform all new songs live in-studio.
Night Moves founding members Pelant and bassist Micky Alfano were joined by longtime drummer Jared Isabella, Aaron Baum on keys and guitarist Charles Murlowski.
After writing upwards of 20 songs, Night Moves rewrote, scrapped and narrowed down Pennied Days to nine solid psychedelic country songs, this time with Pelant's vocals more front-and-center.
Night Moves are eager and excited to get back out on the road to play new songs live. "Our bodies are so malleable at this age," says Pelant. "It's not taking a toll on us too much."
