Top 10 Songs of 2015
In no particular order.
Punch Brothers - "I Blew It Off"
The perfect combination of Beach Boys and the cool side of bluegrass. This ain't your granddaddies string band!
Django Django - "Shake and Tremble"
I love how this tune kind of re-purposes surf-guitar licks, yet Django Django doesn't sound like the Ventures. I love that you can actually dance to it, too!
Tame Impala - "Let It Happen"
This one is a bargain for your buck. It's like four songs in one and it's all good!
Robert Plant - "Little Maggie"
This old folk/blues tune is my favorite cover of the year.
Leon Bridges - "Better Man"
Not only does Leon Bridges have a honey voice, he's got songs!
Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats - "S.O.B."
This sing-a-long gospel workout will make you want a drink when it's over!
Rayland Baxter - "Yellow Eyes"
I love everything about this one. Just a gorgeous melody along with Rayland's soulful and passionate vocal.
On An On - "Drifting"
I find myself mesmerized by the beauty of this song. It's a hit in my world!
Father John Misty - "The Ideal Husband"
This rocker is a nice changeup for FJM!
Dawes - "Things Happen"
I was beginning to lose faith in Dawes until this edgier track came along on their latest album.
