"I think we were all happy with the way [the album] came out and felt like it deserved the largest platform we could give it," says Max Kulicke of Carroll's debut full-length. "We wanted a lot of people to hear it."

Hot on the heels of a sold out release show at the Triple Rock Social Club, Carroll—Brian Hurlow (vocals, guitar, keys), Charlie Rudoy (drums), Max Kulicke (guitar) and Charles McClung (bass, keys)—stopped by The Current to perform live in-studio and to chat with host David Campbell of The Local Show.

The follow-up to 2013's Needs EP was long-awaited. Carroll's 10 tracks were mastered in February of 2014 after 18 days of recording in Philadelphia with engineer Jon Low, who has produced albums for artists that Carroll admire including Kurt Vile, Sharon Van Etten and Twin Sister.

Since frontman Brian Hurlow wrote the drippy, psychedelic songs that appear on Carroll nearly three years ago, the band has shacked up in a Wisconsin cabin (Bon Iver-ed, if you will) to demo a handful of new tracks for LP two.

In the meantime, longtime fans are happy to finally sink their teeth into Carroll's full-length debut.
