History Highlight:

Today in 1997, Foo Fighters released their second album The Colour And The Shape. The record is the debut of the Foo Fighters as a group, as the band's previous self-titled album was recorded as a demo primarily by frontman Dave Grohl and friend Barrett Jones. The Colour And The Shape's main singles "Monkey Wrench", "Everlong" and "My Hero" peaked within the top 10 on United States rock radio, and the album charted at No. 3 in the U.K. Critics found the album a significant American rock release of the era, and it is now viewed as seminal modern rock album. And even though Foo Fighters are Americans, the word "Colour" in the album title is always spelled with the British spelling as a nod to album producer Gil Norton, who is British.
