Panther Ray perform in The Current studio

After scrapping a record in 2013, switching up the lineup and re-recording in 2014, Panther Ray are ready to share Ripple, their full-length debut via the Twin Cities-based Forged Artifacts record label.
"We realized that [recording] was going in somewhat of a different direction than we wanted," says guitarist and vocalist Dan Ries. So Reis took the reigns and self-produced the record after drummer Mat Heichrich joined the lineup along with Hannah Porter (guitar, vocals) and Andy Rockwood (bass, vocals).
Panther Ray already have new music on the mind. "Our goal is to keep on making physical records but to obviously have them available for anybody to listen to," says Ries. "At this stage in the music industry it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of benefit to trying to keep everything locked down."
Panther Ray celebrate the release of Ripple this Thursday, April 30 at the 7th St. Entry with opening local acts Flavor Crystals, Rupert Angeleyes and Whatever Forever.
