Trout Steak Revival perform in the Radio Heartland studio
by Mike Pengra and Trout Steak Revival
March 31, 2015
Trout Steak Revival have had a very good year. They just recorded a new album funded by a Kickstarter campaign (they raised twice as much money as they were looking for in just a few days), and then won (yes they WON) the Best Band competition at the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Not bad.
So they set out on the road to bring this music to us. And we're lucky. The new album, Brighter Every Day, is 100 percent original. All five members take turns writing and singing lead on the tunes. They're in the Twin Cities on their tour and stopped by the Radio Heartland studio to play for us.
Songs performed
"Get A Fire Going"
"For to Find A Friend"
"Brighter Every Day"
Band members: Steve Foltz (mandolin), Casey Houlihan (bass), Travis McNamara (banjo), Bevin Foley (fiddle) and Will Koster (guitar).
