Today in 1979, The Police single, "Roxanne," entered the charts for the first time. The song is credited with getting the band their first record deal. In 2008, "Roxanne" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Rolling Stone ranked it #388 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
